SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) — Sarasota County leaders are considering changing the rules regarding motorboats and jet skis on the southside of Lido Beach. "Maybe we could get some of the bad actors off the water, but the families will still be able to go to the shoal and enjoy,” said Commissioner Mark Smith. Commissioners looked at a few options for changes to the rules, but decided on one that would keep boaters and jet ski riders from riding within 300 feet of the sand.
