MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG)—Play ball! Fresh grass and dirt now fill the T-Ball field at Municipal Park in Mobile on Museum Drive.
The new renovations are just one of many upgrades in store for the local park.
Organizers said it's a field created by the community for the community.
"This field was in such disrepair, from washout and erosion and no drainage, that we wanted this to be kind of our flag in the crown of what Friends of Municipal Park does," Friends of Municipal Park Board President Cliff Kennedy said.
After years of planning, the T-ball field received a facelift to create a safer space for players.
Kennedy said the Friends of Municipal Park non-profit raised $150,000 for the project.
