DES MOINES, Iowa —
After heat lingered well into October, much of Iowa is finally in for overnight lows in the 30s this week.
That means the first frost of the fall for many.
Parts of the state could even get a freeze.
Temperatures will first drop overnight into Wednesday morning. Widespread 30s are expected, but just enough wind could linger to mitigate the frost threat.

Thursday morning could be slightly colder. Wind speeds should drop to 5 mph or less and allow freezing temps to settle in across much of northern Iowa.
