SLIDELL, La. — The Slidell Police announced that a turned himself in on Monday.

Police accuse the teen of fatally shooting 18-year-old Chancelor Parker last Wednesday.

Officials learned that the suspect was hiding in Hancock County, Mississippi.

On Monday morning, investigators attempted to arrest him at a Hancock County home, but he was not there. Later that night, he turned himself in to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say he will be extradited to Louisiana, where he will face one count of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted first-degree murder.

"We commend the hard work, dedication, and countless hours invested by the investigators who worked tirelessly to identify a suspect and get him into custody," the Slidell Police Department said.
