KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Kansas State women’s basketball team is rebuilding with a brand-new roster. Last year, the Wildcats reached the Sweet 16 for the first time in more than 20 years, but head coach Jeff Mittie says this year’s group has impressed him in the early going.
However, the Wildcats return just three players from last year’s team, creating chemistry challenges as the season approaches.
“Individually, we’ve worked incredibly hard. Now, the chemistry on the floor, the timing of things, how we play together, all of those things are not even remotely close to where they need to be. We’ve got to learn each other better,” Mittie told reporters Tuesday at T-Mobile Center during Big 12 Media Days.
