PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A 30-year-old woman, shot outside a Gresham sports bar, is now paralyzed from an incident where her sister said she was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Myranda Rice was shot around 2:30 a.m. Sunday outside the Division Sports Pub. She was rushed to a Portland hospital and underwent emergency surgery. But she woke with no feeling in her legs.
Her sister, Jessica Hawash, told KOIN 6 News that when Rice woke up from surgery, she said, "He tried to kill me for no reason. I was just trying to help."
Hawash said when her 30-year-old sister left the bar, they saw a man being attacked in the parking lot.
Rice and her partner "attempted to help the person that was being attacked," Hawash said. "One of the patrons that was attacking the guy on the ground, pull
