MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Whether it’s in our local hospital or schools, the need for therapy animals continues to grow.

Therapy animals with ‘Dogs on Call’ visit a number of facilities from nursing homes to schools and libraries across the state.

Recently, the Wisconsin nonprofit formed a new partnership with the Madison Fire Department in an effort to support the mental health of first responders.

Jeff Rogers with Dogs on Call, and Lisa Becher with MFD visited WMTV on Tuesday.

“We are always looking for new ways to improve the mental health of our members especially after being at significant calls,” said Becher.
