GROESBECK, Texas — Just six months ago , Groesbeck man Danny Dupree and his family were praying for a miracle. After a decade of battling severe heart and kidney complications — including three strokes, a heart attack and both top and bottom heart failure — Dupree was placed on the heart transplant list at Houston Methodist Hospital . When doctors later told him he also needed a kidney transplant, his wife, Loretta, feared the worst.
But this October, the Duprees are celebrating something no one expected — Danny no longer needs either transplant.
“It’s a miracle from God Himself,” Loretta said. “Danny’s heart function went from 10% to 45%, and his kidney function is almost back to normal. The stroke that looked like a setback was actually a setup to see the hand of God moving.”
