HENRICO, Va. (WWBT) - The Henrico Police Athletic League (PAL) is transforming lives by getting at-risk youth off the streets and into a state-of-the-art music studio. This free program aims to foster creativity and build stronger community ties.
“One of our main goals is to bridge the gap between the kids, cops, and the community,” Barron Sorrell, the Music Program Coordinator, said.
Sorrell says some of the main benefits is to help kids be creative.
“Being creative and being in the music business keeps you off the streets. It’s also an opportunity for them to create a successful business,” Sorrell said.
After three years, the program has a new home at the Math and Science Center in Central Gardens.
