LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - A federal judge says it will be up to a jury to decide whether a former Van Buren County chief deputy was justified in his use of force during a 2024 arrest.

FOX16 Investigates obtained video of this controversial arrest involving Former Chief Deputy Derek Adams and Ronnie Dollar in January, nearly a year after our Investigations first began.

In January 2024, Dollar went to the sheriff’s office to reclaim his stolen car. He ended up in handcuffs.

Following his arrest, Dollar filed a lawsuit against Adams, Van Buren County Sheriff Eric Koonce, and the lead investigator, Chasta Harrison.
