CLEVELAND, Ohio — If you thought the New York Jets starting the season 0-7 was bad enough, just wait until you learn of the owner’s thoughts.
Jets’ owner Woody Johnson addressed the media on Tuesday at the NFL’s Fall League Meeting, discussing the team’s performance — with particular focus on head coach Aaron Glenn and quarterback Justin Fields.
“It’s hard when you have a quarterback with the rating that we’ve got,” Johnson said . “He has the ability, but something is just not jiving.”
Through six games, Fields has completed 63.7% of passes for 845 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions.
The former Ohio State quarterback ranks 17th in passer rating (91.1), but 33rd in passing yards per game (140.8), and holds three of the team’s seven fumbles, which puts them in a three-way tie
