Two of the state’s top high school boys’ soccer teams shared the pitch Tuesday night when Warren De La Salle took on New Boston Huron in a Division 2 regional semifinal game held at Divine Child High School in Dearborn.
In addition to their combined 35 victories on the season coming into play on Tuesday, both clubs finished the regular season ranked inside the top five by the Michigan High School Soccer Coaches Association. Huron checked in at No. 3 in the final polls, while De La Salle was one spot back at No. 4.
Tuesday also marked the second time in as many seasons that De La Salle and Huron hooked up in a regional semifinal matchup. In 2024, it was the former winning by a final of 5-2 before later winning the D2 state championship.
