The blaze was first reported around 9:30 p.m. at a single-story structure on Russett Drive near Moorpark Street, according to Oakland Fire Department spokesperson Michael Hunt.
Crews arrived to find the warehouse in flames and “went defensive,” meaning they did not enter the building due to safety risks and potential structure collapse, Hunt said.
The fire was contained as of 10:30 p.m., Hunt said. About 35 firefighters remained at the scene late Tuesday.
No injuries were reported and the fire did not extend to any other structures, Hunt said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
