CLE ELUM, Wash — Westbound lanes on Interstate 90 near Cle Elum remain closed after a truck carrying an oversized load struck and damaged an overpass on Tuesday night, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The road will remain closed while the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) plans repairs. The westbound lanes of I-90 are closed at Bullfrog Road. A photo from the scene shows debris from the damaged overpass covering the two westbound lanes.

Gov. Bob Ferguson said a team of bridge inspectors examined the site today. Detailed information about how long the interstate will remained closed and next steps will be provided by Monday, Ferguson said.

Washington state will be pursing the cost of the repairs from the trucking company, Ferguson added.
