KITTITAS COUNTY, Wash. -- Drivers headed west across the state might not have an update on the I-90 closure near Cle Elum before the end of the weekend.
According to Washington State Patrol, a truck with an oversized load hit the Bullfrog Overpass on westbound I-90 near Cle Elum overnight on Wednesday.
Around 8 a.m. on Wednesday, WSDOT said westbound I-90 was closed at Exit 80 and that drivers were being detoured around the closure via the off and on-ramp.
Crews were working to assess the damage throughout the day.
In a social media post Wednesday afternoon, Governor Bob Ferguson said the public should have an update on the closure by Monday.
WSP investigated the incident and said the driver of the truck was issued a citation at the scene, but does not face any criminal charges.
