Discount supermarket giant Lidl has revealed plans to open 66 new stores in Scotland. The huge expansion includes a mix of town centres, retail parks, and standalone sites - and there is a full list of areas the chain wants to move into - which can be viewed below.
The new locations must meet the company’s standard store requirements, including unit sizes between 18,000 and 26,500 sq ft and at least 100 dedicated car parking spaces.
Plots of 1.5 acres are required for standalone stores or up to 4 acres for mixed-use developments.
The plans will feature flexible formats in shopping centres, high streets, and retail parks, with or without car parking, and in close proximity to key public transport links.
