Supermarket giant Lidl has unveiled ambitious plans to open 66 new stores across Scotland , including six new sites in the north-east .
The discount retailer's huge expansion includes a mixture of supermarkets in town centres and retail parks as well as standalone sites.
And Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire are among the areas set to benefit, with two sites planned in the Granite City and three further afield in Banchory , Ellon , Stonehaven and Westhill .

The new locations must meet the company’s standard store requirements, including unit sizes between 18,000 and 26,500 sq ft, and at least 100 dedicated car parking spaces, reports the Daily Record .
