At least six people were killed overnight as Russia launched aerial attacks on Ukraine, according to the country's authorities.

The strikes came just hours after President Donald Trump said he had no plans to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in the "immediate future."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said "ordinary cities were hit" as Moscow targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Zelensky said 10 regions had been struck, and six people had been killed, including two children. Another 17 had been injured, he said.

Ukraine's state emergency service said the two children had been killed, along with another person, in Kyiv. Rescuers were searching for survivors and clearing rubble on Wednesday morning, officials said.
