Albany detectives are calling for anyone with information to come forward as they investigate how an elderly man ended up with serious injuries while out running in Drome on Monday.

The 84-year-old man was found in a ditch on the side of Link Road with serious injuries on October 13.

Police say that about 3pm, they believe the man had been running in the Drome area prior to being located at the bottom of an embankment on Link Road.

He has serious injuries and was rushed from Albany to Perth, currently at Perth Royal Hospital in intensive care.

Detectives are appealing for any witness or information relating to the incident.

The man is described as having a slim build, and at the time he was wearing dark coloured shorts, a fluorescent vest and white cap.
