HUNTINGTON — Marshall's men’s basketball team began its season with its first of two exhibition games on Tuesday, downing Alice Lloyd 123-63.
The Thundering Herd was led by Noah Otshudi’s 21 points. Marshall shot 20 for 43 on 3-pointers, had 14 steals and blocked seven shots.
“Getting 123 points is obviously good, no matter who you’re playing,” Marshall coach Corny Jackson said. “We shot the ball well. We went 47%. Still have to clean up some stuff defensively.”
The assist-to-turnover ratio for Marshall finished at 31-13. The Herd moved the ball well, often kicking the second or third pass into a make.
The game went as expected. Marshall started with a lob from Caleb Hollenbeck to Wyatt Fricks seconds after the tip and never lost its lead, tying for just 19 seconds.
