West Midlands Safari Park have shared the moment a baby giraffe entered the world after it was captured on CCTV. Namara was born to mother Akacia at the popular wildlife spot earlier in October.

The arrival has been described as "extra special" as this breed of giraffe is at risk in the wild. Both mother and baby are said to be happy and healthy.

The footage captured shows Akacia standing in the giraffe house looking quite nonchalant. The next moment a flurry of motion sees Namara entering into the world, dropping on to the ground.

The remarkable footage was shared on social media by West Midlands Safari Park.
