Last season felt like a dream come true for the Oklahoma City Thunder. The young team captured its first-ever NBA title since relocating to Oklahoma City by defeating the Indiana Pacers. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander played a pivotal role throughout the campaign and won the MVP title of last season.
However, it took months for SGA to hold the championship ring in his hands finally. Nearly four months after the Thunder secured the Larry O’Brien Trophy, Shai received his first ring during the season opener against the Houston Rockets. SGA was visibly thrilled as he held the ring while standing at the free-throw line.
The night ended in dramatic fashion for the defending champions. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander calmly sank the game-winning free throws to secure a 125-124 double-overtime victory.
