Let the market decide

I think the federal government should cancel the tariffs on EVs from China. A friend who lives in High River and works in Calgary bought one thinking it would save her money. In one month it cost her upwards of $600 in charging fees. After a month she returned it to the dealership and bought something more practical. If you wanted to drive to somewhere like even Edmonton you’d better be prepared to find a charger station along the way and add extra time to your trip — apparently it takes about a half-hour to fully charge the battery. God help you if you get delayed by an accident or bad weather. You pretty much have to plug in your vehicle every time you get home, even in the summer, or risk running out of juice.
