LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Cold winds keep whipping across the region today, ushering in the chilliest air of the fall season so far. Temperatures are stuck in the 50s, but the gusty winds make it feel even colder outside.

As the wind settles tonight, the stage is set for patchy frost to develop, especially by early Thursday morning, as lows dip into the 30s.

By Friday morning, expect a more widespread frost and even a light freeze in spots. With clear skies, some areas could drop into the upper 20s to low 30s, while places under a few lingering clouds should stay just above freezing.

A system will move in from the west, bringing a chance of showers from Sunday into Monday.
