LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - It’s another blustery day across Kentucky as a strong cold front sweeps through the region. This front opens the door to much colder air, setting the stage for frost before the week wraps up, so gardeners, it’s time to be on alert. Beyond that, the weather pattern looks quite active as we head into late October.

Gusty winds are the main story today, with frequent gusts reaching 30 to 35 mph. A few spotty showers may pass through eastern Kentucky ahead of the front, but the bigger change comes tonight as colder winds pour in. Early Wednesday will feel downright chilly, with wind chills dipping below freezing in spots. Afternoon highs will struggle to get out of the 50s, and the lingering breeze will keep it feeling brisk all day.
