It amazes Orla Foley how much the No 8 shows up in her life.

Like when she was on a cycling trip in France and she repeatedly saw the No 8 on canal pathways. Like when she was having lunch during a skiing holiday and she looked up and saw a No 8 birthday card directly above them on the wooden beams. She reached up and brought that card home with her to Clare.
