A commercial building on Henri-Bourassa Blvd. E. near Rodolphe-Forget Blvd. was targeted early Wednesday by arsonists — the second attempt in as many days, Montreal police say.

Police say they were called to the building around 2 a.m. following a 911 report of an alarm sounding.

“When the police arrived on the scene, there was a small fire starting in the entrance of the building,” spokesperson Caroline Chèvrefils said. Police extinguished the fire, she said.

Police believe that one or more suspects broke the glass front door, set fire to the entrance and fled, Chèvrefils said. They found no incendiary materials and reported no damage other than the broken door, she said.
