Plans for dozens of homes in a rural Derbyshire village have been submitted. The project, from Peveril Homes, would see 31 houses built south of Valley Road in Overseal and west of Squirrel Walk in what is currently a vacant field.

South Derbyshire District Council will make a decision on the plans in the next few weeks . If approved, the scheme would include four two-bed houses, 21 three-bed homes and six four-bed houses – 12 of which (39 per cent) would be classed as affordable housing – with 62 parking spaces.
