Millions of federal people nationwide have worked without pay, and some may be forced to seek help from food banks. Organizers at the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma said they prepared for this shutdown, but sustaining resources hasn’t been an easy task.

Regional Food Bank’s Mission

Work inside the food bank’s distribution center on South Purdue Avenue stays in motion year-round. The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma ships food every day to anyone who needs it.

“We service fifty-three counties in central and western Oklahoma,” said Austin Prickett, director of communications at the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. “We’ve seen an increased need for food assistance at some of our partners.”
