The Election Commission, during its scrutiny, dismissed the nominations of three candidates for the Ghatsila by-election in Jharkhand. This move follows the vacancy left by the late JMM MLA and Education Minister, Ramdas Soren.

With polling scheduled for November 11 and results on November 14, the disqualification of Malti Tudu, Dukhiram Mardi, and Mangal Murmu has narrowed the candidate field to 14 hopefuls. The final date for withdrawal of candidatures is set for Thursday.
