The path to the state championships just got a little more direct for athletes in the 3A Greater St. Helens League.

This weekend, when players in the 3A district boys tennis tournament compete at Club Green Meadows, they won’t be competing for berths in next week’s bi-district tournament.

That has been the route to state in years past.

This year, boys tennis players will be qualifying for spots into next spring’s 3A state tournament.

That was the situation last week for the players in the 3A boys golf district tournament.
