WATERLOO, Iowa (KCRG) - Waterloo Police are asking for the public’s help after the discovery of several baggies containing political messages in them.

Police found the flyers Sunday morning stuffed in baggies scattered across a Waterloo neighborhood. The flyers included messages like “we stand against pedophiles and groomers, do you?” and “would you open your home to a fugitive you didn’t know? Then why should we open our borders?”

Waterloo Police are investigating and asking the public for any information or security camera footage that may shed light on who spread the flyers and why.

It’s unlikely the flyers would amount to a crime outside of littering, as the messages would fall under freedom of speech protections. There is no definition of hate speech in the criminal code . Howeve
