Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed profound grief over the death of renowned singer and cultural icon Zubeen Garg, calling it “unfortunate, piteous, and one of the most painful incidents in Assam’s history.”

Speaking on the controversy and public discourse surrounding the tragedy, Sarma accused certain sections of attempting to politicise the incident for their own agenda.

“Many of these people never listened to a single song of Zubeen Garg when he was alive.
