Steady rains are welcome after a summer of severe drought across the region.

But, an expected shortage in the near term of more needed rainfall to bring the region out of a severe drought has prompted Quinte Conservation to extend a Level 3 Low-Water Condition.

“Despite recent precipitation events throughout the Quinte Watershed, the region remains in a level 3 Low Water Condition, indicating severe drought. Stream flows remain well below normal for this time of year, with reports of no-flow in some locations,” the authority said on Wednesday
