The exclusion of Mumbai batter Sarfaraz Khan from the India A squad for the upcoming two-match red-ball series against South Africa A has reignited debate over selection clarity in Indian cricket. Despite strong performances and visible transformation, Sarfaraz’s name was missing from the 15-member list announced by the BCCI, leaving fans and experts fuming.

Among those expressing concern was veteran cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin, who said the decision “pained” him and possibly marked the end of Sarfaraz’s Test hopes.
