To the editor:

Americans, Minnesotans, Alexandrians want a country that lives up to the pledge of liberty and justice for all. Democracy is not just for the rich, but for each and every one of us.

On Saturday Oct. 18 over 1,000 joyful, energized people gathered in Alexandria at the No Kings rally. They joined nearly 400,000 Minnesotans in communities across the state. Rallies were held in every US state. Over 7 million people — independents, liberals and conservatives — at 2,700 rallies worldwide protested our current administration’s actions that break our laws and ignore the rights granted to us by the Constitution.

It was the largest peaceful protest in American history.
