BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) -- Trick or treating is the most anticipated Halloween event for kids ready to get dressed up in costume and fill up their buckets.

Many places designate trick-or-treating hours on or a day before Halloween for safety reasons. The Louisiana Department of Health advises parents to check candy labels for allergens, remove choking hazards and inspect commercially wrapped treats.
