CORNING, Calif. - A driver was arrested for DUI after crashing into a 7-Eleven in Corning.

The incident occurred around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, at the 7-Eleven near Solano Street and West Street. A Chevy Suburban SUV went completely through the front window, stopping with the vehicle completely inside the store.

Sgt. Ed Curiel told Action News Now that the driver, 30-year-old Ernesto Martinez of Stockton, was taken into custody for DUI.

Police said the driver told investigators he was pulling into the parking lot when, somehow, the passenger may have hit the accelerator. The window was boarded up, and the store reopened.
