ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — A Michigan man was critically injured during a motorcycle crash Tuesday in Escambia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to an FHP news release, the 21-year-old man from Brighton, Mich., was riding his motorcycle east in the outside lane of State Road 292 near 3rd Street at about 5:51 p.m. when he lost control of the motorcycle and hit the curb before hitting a guardrail.

The motorcycle turned over, throwing the driver and his passenger, a 26-year-old woman from Alexandria, Virginia, according to the crash report.

The driver was critically injured, the report said. The passenger's injuries were not critical. Both were taken to the hospital.

The crash is still under investigation.
