SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – A traffic crash involving downed powerlines has closed 35th Street from Olympic Street to Commercial Avenue, according to the Springfield Police Department.

SPD officials said that motorists are advised to avoid the area and that the road may be closed for an extended period of time. Emergency dispatch logs show that responders were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident shortly after 8 a.m. on 35th Street and Commercial Avenue.
