Angela Rayner has said there is 'no excuse not to pay taxes owed' in an emotional resignation speech to the Commons.

The former deputy prime minister said the situation surrounding her resignation had been 'incredibly tough' for her family in her first statement since leaving the Government.

Ms Rayner was visibly emotional during the speech as she also talked about her work in working-class communities and with families of victims of the Grenfell disaster.
