BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — What better way to begin your spooky festivities than starting with a morning 5K run.

The Girls Run Bakersfield club is hosting a running event on Nov. 1 in celebration of Halloween and Dia de Los Muertos, "We want it to be fun; we want people to come out dressed up and celebrate their love for the dead," said Luz Almanza, Founder of Girls Run Bakersfield.

Join Girls Run Bakersfield Saturday, Nov. 1 at 7:45 a.m. for a 5k run at Hart Park on Lake Road. Face paint and costumes are encouraged.

You can also join every Saturday for a 3-mile run or a 1.5-mile friendly walk. The all-exclusive women's running club invites all levels to participate.
