BEREA, Ohio — Cleveland Browns safety Grant Delpit has been named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 7, the National Football League announced Wednesday.
Delpit played a key role in the Browns’ 31-6 victory over the Miami Dolphins, directly contributing to two of Cleveland’s four takeaways.
In the second quarter, Delpit forced a fumble on a kickoff. Later in the fourth quarter, he recorded a quarterback hit on a blitz that led to an interception by Rayshawn Jenkins. The Browns converted the two turnovers into 14 points.
In addition to his special teams impact, Delpit recorded two tackles and a sack on defense, finishing the game with two special teams tackles and one forced fumble.
