HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Board of Water Supply issued a notice Wednesday morning of a water main break in Kalihi.

The notice from BWS came at around 6 a.m.

The water main break is reportedly near the intersection of North King Street and Gulick Avenue in Kalihi.

Officials said due to road damage from the break, North King Street from Gulick Avenue to Umi Street is shut down in both directions.

Drivers are being asked to avoid the area and to use alternate routes.

Honolulu police has been dispatched to the area.
