LOUDON, Tenn. (WATE) — A 24-hour boil water advisory has been issued for parts of Loudon after a large water main break in the Loudon Utilities Board water system.
Loudon Utilities posted that its water system was shut down on October 22 due to the break. This failure has a "high potential that fecal contamination or other disease-causing organisms could enter the distribution system." The utilities said the conditions could pose "an imminent and substantial health endangerment" to those served by the system.
As a result, water customers in the following area are urged to boil water before drinking it or using it for food preparation, as boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water. In addition, all stored water or ice should be discarded. The areas impacted are: • Butler Dr
