If one wants to keep a business running as long as Barry Levett did with House of Lights in Cleveland, there are a few key characteristics they must have: passionate, opportunistic, resilient and kindness.
Levett, a Hunting Valley resident and congregant of Congregation Mishkan Or in Beachwood who owned the lighting store now located at 5818 Mayfield Road in Mayfield Heights for over 40 years, possessed all of those qualities. However, his wife of 45 years, Susie Levett, said the one that stuck out most to her was the way her husband carried himself with compassion wherever he went.
Levett died on Sept. 11. He was 82.
