If you own a gun one way to make sure it's secure is to use a lockbox or a trigger lock. But not a lot of you gun owners use those devices when the guns aren't in use.

In fact according to Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Violence Solutions only about half of all gun owners store the weapons safely with a trigger lock or lockbox. They say using those devices help reduce injuries, homicides, suicides, and mass shootings.

THE DEVICES ARE MEANT FOR LONG TERM STORAGE

But it's a different story in an high-stress emergency situation because they don't open fast and depending on the design they may even be tough to install to actually protect the trigger.
