PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland's Lovejoy Fountain Park in downtown was seen Wednesday morning overflowing with mounds of soapy bubbles spilling over onto the sidewalk.
It's not some fountain cleaning gone awry, the Portland Parks & Recreation said. It's clear that it's more of a devilish elementary school-style prank and vandalism.
"This sort of thing is known to happen on occasion, though we do not encourage it," a spokesperson for PP&R said.
The city said it typically requires the fountain to be drained and refilled to make it suds-free again. But with it being late-October, Portland fountains citywide are being drained for the winter season.
"We don’t anticipate any issues or concerns," the spokesperson said.
