VANCOUVER, Wash. — A suspect faces a murder charge after Vancouver police said they found a woman dead inside a motel room on Wednesday.

Just before 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 15, staff at Studio 6 Suites on Broadway Street found blood throughout a motel room and called 911. At the time of the call, police said, there was no indication that anyone was in the room.

Officers found a woman, 51-year-old Kammy Lyn Pollack, dead inside. Preliminary investigation suggested that Pollack was physically assaulted while in the room.

Police identified 27-year-old Joseph M. Uriarte as a suspect and arrested him on a second-degree murder charge. Uriarte had already been in custody at the Clark County Jail on unrelated charges at the time of his booking, police said.
