The Porterville Unified School District Board is set to approve an agreement reached between the district and the Porterville Educators Association at their next meeting.

The board will meet at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the district office governing board room, 600 West Grand Avenue. The board will take up the issue as a scheduled matter.

The district and PEA were at an impasse and PUSD teachers were working without a new contract since May. But in their second mediation session on October 6 the district and PEA reached an agreement. PEA's members ratified the agreement on Ocotober 10.

The agreement calls for a 3 percent pay raise retroactive to July 1. As far as paying for health care benefits for 2024-2025 the district would increase its contribution from $17,250 to $19,500 per employee a
